The standout element of Karan Johar-hosted Koffee with Karan is that the filmmaker interrogates his guests with questions we never knew had answers to. Season 6 of the coveted celebrity chat show started off with Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone talking about their respective boyfriends – Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh!

Joining Karan on the sofa last night were entertainers Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar. It was laugh riot right from the start when he gave both macho superstars a cheeky “Mama’s Boy” intro, and then had them tumbling down the stairs, falling into his arms, and finally into a complicated ballroom dance. They didn’t take the couch, but sat on the backrest instead, because what are Akshay and Ranveer if they are like anyone else? “You said come and have a great time,” they reminded Karan Johar, the host of the show who pretended to be mad and embarrassed and got them to order.

Karan reminded them, that last time Akshay was on his show, it was a dignified version of the Khiladi that viewers got to see because he was with his wife, Twinkle Khanna. Whereas Ranveer was even wild and fun as usual– considering his behaviour and fashion sense.

The Rapid Fire round threw up amazing possibilities. Ranveer saying he did not want to work with one of the three Bollywood Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh or Aamir – because he had a fourth Khan in mind: Taimur Khan! “When he grows up we can play father-son roles, he will be my budape ka sahara,” Ranveer said while KJo couldn’t control his laughter. He also admitted that he has cheated in his past relationships” while Akshay gave us an insight of his life outside the industry with his wife and friends.

Not being judgemental but Alia and Deepika kept things pretty wrapped and simple and Ranveer and Akshay managed to go all out! Right from the promo, it was already clear that the two superstars have packed the episode with loads of testosterone and the bromance made things better!
