Actress Shilpa Shetty took to Instagram to share her frustration with a Qantas Airways lady staff member over a cabin luggage, which was deemed as ‘oversized’ at the check-in counter. She expresses that she faced an unpleasant experience because of her skin colour and she alleges an act of racism.
Shilpa posted that an airline staffer asked her to manually check-in her oversized duffel bag at a different counter. She obliged and went to the other counter for the manual check-in; the staffer at the second counter told her that her bag wasn’t oversized, which indicated Shilpa to return to the first counter with her bag. But the staffer was fixed on her decision and allegedly caused a lot of difficulties. The actress added that the airline staff must be trained to be considerate and not change their tones with preference to colour.
This is what she wrote:
Interestingly, Shilpa’s rant evoked mixed reactions. While few were in support of her opinion against the airline staff, many trolled her for expecting ‘celebrity privilege’.
